On November 1, 2022, Ghibli Park opened in Nagakubu City, Aichi Prefecture.
The theme park, which expresses the world of Studio Ghibli, has attracted a great deal of attention.
Since June, more than half a year after its opening, visitors have been able to purchase tickets for the “Hill of Youth” and the “Dondoko Forest” in addition to the original “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse” only.
The method of purchasing International Tickets for Ghibli Park has finally been established.
After a few small changes before and after the opening of the show, we can say that the method of obtaining the tickets is almost finalized.
This article will provide basic information for purchasing Ghibli Park tickets at this time and how to purchase tickets for individuals coming from overseas.

3 Key Factors for Buying for Ghibli Park Tickets
Since Ghibli Park was anticipated to be highly popular from the beginning, tickets are purchased by reservation only.
Basic information on tickets for admission to Ghibli Park is listed below.
3 key factors for Buying Ghibli Park admission tickets
There are three key factors to consider when purchasing tickets for admission to Ghibli Park.
See below.
I will discuss each of these key factors along this index of basic information.
This section explains how to purchase tickets, fees and notes.
#1. Tickets for Ghibli Park go on sale on the 10th of each month and are reserved 3 months in advance
Tickets for Ghibli Park go on sale on the 10th of each month.
Those three months in advance are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission to each area of Ghibli Park is by appointment only.
On the 10th of each month, tickets for the next 3 months are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. For example, on January 10, tickets for April 2023 will go on sale.
To be a little more precise, the above tickets with a specific date and time to be reserved and sold on January 10 will be for admission from April 1 through 30 (the end of the month).
If the reservation sale date is February I0, that would be for admission from May 1 through May 31.
Within those dates, you would purchase tickets for each admission date and time, which are slightly different for each area.
Admission to Ghibli Park requires a ticket for each of the 3 areas with a specific date and time
Ghibli Park is divided into three areas: “The Hill of Youth(seishun no Oka)”, “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse(Ghibli no Daisoko)” and “Dondoko Forest(Dondoko Mori)” each of which requires a ticket with a specific date and time.
After the February 2023 admission, the lottery sales for the general public that had been held in the past are no longer available, and tickets are now sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tickets for the “Youth Hill” alone have also been discontinued.
Accordingly, there are now three types of tickets: a set ticket for “Hill of Youth” and “Ghibli’s Grandware House”, a ticket for “Ghibli’s Grandware House” alone, and a ticket for “Dondoko Forest” area alone.
From June 2023, in addition to the “Grand Warehouse of Ghibli,” tickets for the “Hill of Youth” and the “Dondoko Forest” will also be available.
The distance between Dondoko Forest and the other two areas is far
In the past, each area had its own admission ticket, but the Dondoko Forest area was located at a distance from the other two areas, which was not convenient and there were calls for improvement.
I actually walked from the Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse near the entrance to the Dondoko Forest, and it took about 15 minutes.
It is pleasant and enjoyable to stroll through the lush forest, but considering that I had to move from the Ghibli Grand Warehouse, where I ended up staying longer, I need to purchase tickets with time in mind.

Ticket prices for Ghibli Park are as follows.

Ghibli Park is closed every Tuesday
Ghibli Park is closed every Tuesday.
You will know when it is time to actually book your tickets, but it is best to keep this in mind when planning your travel itinerary.
#2. Identify the characteristics of each area of Ghibli Park and specify the date and time
There are three areas in Ghibli Park.
Each has its own characteristics, and the estimated time required for viewing varies.
You may want to stay longer in the area featuring your favorite work or do a lot of shopping.
Since everyone has his or her own preferences, it is advisable to decide the designated time by referring to the characteristics of each area.
In all cases, there is no specified exit time, but re-entry is not permitted.
Those whose main goal is to shop and buy lots of souvenirs may be satisfied with the Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse alone.
If you want to immerse yourself in the world of Totoro!
If you want to immerse yourself in the world of Totoro, you should add Dondokoro Forest to your course.

Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse
“Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse” is the main area of Ghibli Park.
It is literally a warehouse full of Ghibli’s secrets and was once a swimming pool (^^).
The mysterious town is filled with exhibits, rooms for children to play, video exhibition rooms, cafes, stores, and more.
Designated admission times are hourly from the park’s opening time (9:00 or 10:00) to 15:00.
For a set right with Youth Hill, there is no designated admission time. Estimated viewing time is 2 to 3 hours.
A YouTube video below showing the “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse” area is also available on YouTube. Please refer to it if you like.
Hill of Youth
Overlooking the park from the top of the hill is the “Earth House” from “Ears to the Sky”.
From the balcony of this “Chikyuuya” you can see the whole park.
Designated admission times are every 30 minutes from the park’s opening time to 4:00 pm.
The estimated viewing time is about 1 hour, and admission tickets are available only for a set ticket with the “Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse”.
Dondoko Forest
Let’s go back to the world of “My Neighbor Totoro” at “Satsuki and Mei’s House”.
Only children under 12 years old are allowed to enter “Dondoko-do” at the top of the hill behind “Dondoko Forest”.
Don’t lie about your age (*^^*)
Designated entrance times are every 30 minutes from the park opening time until 4:00 pm.
Only on the same day, the area behind Dondoko-Mori, excluding “Satsuki and Mei’s House,” may be used during the park’s opening hours.
Estimated viewing time is about 1 hour.

Now that the ticket sales system for Ghibli Park has finally been established, we would like to introduce specific purchase methods.
But first, I would like to introduce the content for English-speaking users living in Japan, who are often requested to do so….
As for how to purchase International Tickets, please wait a bit ^^;.
We would like to introduce ticket purchase information for overseas as soon as possible on this site.
This article introduced basic information about ticket sales and how to purchase tickets to Ghibli Park.
